The internet in our school...

"Our school counts 430 pupils mainly from Ramla, while those in grades
1st & 2nd are from Gan-Chakal. Some of our teachers are local residents,
while others are from out of town. The teachers recieved training for
integrating the computer into the teaching process while the internet
serves as a tool for gathering information and educational activities.

The use of internet in our school is a significant leap for renewal and
integrating our pupils in the technological society. By the year 2000
we expect to be connected with at least 10 computers with which the pupils
will be able to surf through informational resources and exchange ideas
with pupils from other schools in Israel and world wide.

The pupils will be activated as individuals and in groups for tasks of
investigating informational resources. The pupils will hand in assignments
and summaries that will be examined and graded. Furthermore, the pupils will
recieve worksheets for tasks to be carried out at the school's computers
and for whoever it is possible, also from their home machine.

We will teach them to differ the important from the less, to communicate
with other pupils on the net and in the advanced stages they will execute
projects in collaboration with pupils from other schools also connected
to the internet.

In addition to the internet, there will also be a wide use of computers
through educational software and programs that will completely change the
educational approach from the current traditional style to a newer system,
enabling pupils to do more work on their own while the teacher functions
as a guiding factor, directing the pupils in achieving the goals we set
before them".
