School Profile
The school was founded in the year of the states 30th aniversary, hence the
name ATZAMAUT which means independence. The school today counts 420 pupils
who study in grades 1st through 8th. Each grade counts 2 classes counting 16
classes alltogether. In the year 2000 the school went through the process of
opening its "junior-high" classes ( 7th and 8th grades ). Our school participates
in absorbing imigrants and therefore has prepared itself in the educational
aspect as well as social.
The schools "political" platform
During the past 2 years the school has developed an educational vision that is
common and accepted by the teachers staff, pupils and parents. Within this framework
a declaration of principles was formulated along with the development of a school
codex and goals were set that serve as a basis for a defined policy. These goals
were converted into a multi-year work plan that is checked several times a year
on dates set in advance. At the base of our educational enrichment we set the
value of "Respect Of Mankind" and values derived from it. For this sake we have
developed a unique educational program that includes valued social activities fit
to the needs of the public.
Inner School Supportive Layout
A support system has been developed in the school to aid those in need ( New imigrants
and pupils with low achievments ). The assitance is given to individuals in teams
or larger groups. The support system runs in and outside the classroom, during
and after school hours. Due to the schools declaration of principles and the
uniqueness of the school as an "imigrant integrator" we have emphasized the
following goals:
In the learning domain:
Development of an educational program and a variety of teaching methods tailored
to the pupils needs, A heterogeneous class that encourages curiosity and researched
study, Development of A system to constantly monitor and evaluate the application
of educational programs as well as the pupils achievments, Having the pupil
participate in the responsibilty for his learning and making him believe in his
ability with the encouragment and support of the school staff.
In the educational enrichment domain:
Fostering creative thinking and summoning thrilling activities, Creation of A
technological environment and developing scientific cogitation, Cultural and
social enrichment in fields such as arts, Social education, langaustics e.t.c
with the possibility of choice.
In the social domain:
Creating a climate of manners and mutual respect, the right to be different
among equals while regarding the difference as top value, Legitimacy of cultural
pluralism, Preserving and revivng tradition of different communities, Development
of a school codex together with teachers and pupils.
Parents and community:
Having parents participate in the schools procedures by fostering their
involvement, Constant contact between parents and staff, integrating and
widening communal projects within the schools framework such as the schools
"Sports club" and learning centers supported by the neighborhood rehabilitation
project as well as Ramlas "Youth And Sports Center".
